EIDM and QARM Training
EIDM and QARM Quick Start Guide
What is EIDM?
The Enterprise Identity Management system (EIDM) is a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) application you will use to create, request and maintain usernames, passwords and Multi-Factor Authentication for CROWNWeb, the ESRD QIP system, and other CMS systems. Currently, EIDM is running in parallel with the QualityNet Identity Management System (QIMS). However, QIMS was replaced by the new QualityNet Authorization and Role Management (QARM) system in July of 2016. To ensure continued access to CMS systems, users must complete a new EIDM registration process by June 6, 2016, in order to retain access.
What is QARM?
After an Identity account is created in EIDM, the user must then go into QARM to request access to CROWNWeb, the ESRD QIP system, and other CMS applications. Through QARM, users can obtain direct access to authorized CMS systems. Facilities will also manage CROWNWeb user role and scope in QARM. With this updated platform, users will no longer have to log in –or out– of CROWNWeb/ESRD QIP system to go from one application to the other. QARM enables users to seamlessly toggle between the two systems.
