ESRD QIP User Interface Updated to Include Email Notifications

On August 28, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) updated the End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Quality Incentive Program (QIP) User Interface (UI) in the ESRD Quality Reporting System (EQRS) to now include email notifications for inquiries.

Effective with this update, all Facility Points of Contact (POCs) for a unit and Corporate POCs for an owning organization will receive email notifications when CMS responds to inquiries submitted via the ESRD QIP UI. Notifications will also be sent to email addresses entered in the carbon copy (CC) line for facility-level inquiries.

Email notifications will provide recipients with the following:

  • QIP Inquiry ID
  • Payment Year associated with the inquiry
  • Facility/Organization Name
  • CCN/Organization Code
  • Date and Time
  • Status

The ESRD QIP PY 2021 Preview Period ends August 31, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time (PT). Facility or Corporate Viewers and POCs should access and review the facility’s Preview Performance Score Report (PSR), available through the ESRD QIP UI in EQRS. POCs should submit inquiries regarding the facility’s PY 2021 scores before the Preview Period concludes.

POCs should use the ESRD QIP UI to promptly review and respond to inquiries, in case CMS requests additional information for unresolved inquiries. POCs may receive responses to their inquiries after the Preview Period ends. POCs must check on the status of their inquiries via the ESRD QIP UI until the inquiries are flagged as “Closed.”
