CY 2021 ESRD QIP Data Validity and Reliability Study: Explanation of Study

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with Fed Pro Services, LLC to:
- Assess the accuracy of the Clinical Performance Measures (CPM) entered in the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Quality Reporting System (EQRS)
- Validate positive blood cultures reported in the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) system
Fed Pro Services, LLC will randomly select facilities to participate in the ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP) Data Validity and Reliability Study. Fed Pro Services, LLC will request that selected facilities submit patient lists and medical records for review. If your facility is selected for the study, you will receive a letter from Fed Pro Services, LLC providing specific guidance on submitting the required information.
The tentative schedule for the release of these letters is as follows:
NHSN: Request for Patient Lists – October 2021
NHSN: Request for Medical Records – December 2021 – February 2022
EQRS: Request for Medical Records – March 2022
