2021 and 2022 EQRS Data Submission Deadline Extension
**Important Update**
EQRS Data Submission Deadline Extended for 2021 and the First Two Reporting Months for 2022

This announcement is to notify dialysis facilities that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Quality Reporting System (EQRS) data submission deadline for January 2021-December 2021, (all months in 2021) to March 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (PT). This data submission deadline applies to:
- EQRS Clinical Data
- Clinical Depression Screening and Follow Up
- In-Center Hemodialysis Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (ICH CAHPS) Attestations
Additionally, CMS has extended the EQRS Clinical Data submission deadline for January 2022-February 2022, to May 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM PT. Beginning March 2022, clinical months will resume for data submission on the first of the month and close approximately two months after the end of the reporting month.
These data submission deadlines apply to all collection types (Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis) and to all submission methods. For additional information on how to submit data in EQRS, refer to the Education page on MyCROWNWeb.org.
Dialysis facilities must submit EQRS data by these deadlines to meet the CMS reporting requirements. Failure to complete the submission of data by the deadlines listed in this announcement puts your facility at risk for an ESRD Quality Incentive Program payment reduction.
If your facility batch submits or uses the Health Information Exchange/Electronic Data Interchange methods, please follow the guidance provided by your organization.
Please note: CMS strongly recommends that facilities complete large data submissions and audit batch submitted data prior to data submission deadlines to ensure accurate and timely data submission.
