NHSN 2023 First Quarter Reporting Deadline Approaching

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended the first quarter 2023 National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) reporting deadline for the End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Incentive Program (ESRD QIP). The NHSN deadline extension applies to the following data reporting:

NHSN Bloodstream Infection in Hemodialysis Patients
NHSN Dialysis Event Reporting
COVID-19 Vaccination Among Healthcare Personnel (HCP)

The first quarter 2023 NHSN data reporting deadline has been changed from July 3, 2023, to July 14, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. This deadline extension is due to an NHSN application issue. The extension will allow facilities the opportunity to ensure their data is complete and accurate in accordance with ESRD QIP reporting policy.
