CY 2023 ESRD QIP Data Validation and Reliability Study – Explanation of Study

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contracted with Fed Pro Services, LLC to:
- Assess the accuracy of the Clinical Performance Measures (CPM) entered in the ESRD Quality Reporting System (EQRS)
- To validate positive blood cultures reported in the Center for Disease Control (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) system
Facilities will be randomly selected to participate in the Data Validation and Reliability Study. Fed Pro Services will request that the selected facilities submit patient lists and medical records for review. If your facility is selected for the study, you will receive a letter from Fed Pro Services, LLC providing specific guidance on submitting the required information.
The tentative schedule for release of these letters is as follows:
- NHSN: Request for Patient Lists – October 2023
- NHSN: Request for Medical Records – November 2023 – January 2024
- EQRS: Request for Medical Records – March 2023
