EQRS Alert: Autofill Errors Identified in EQRS

EQRS Alert: Autofill Errors Identified in EQRS

January 24, 2024

In response to an increase in the number of End Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System (EQRS) Helpdesk tickets which were found to be caused by the use of “autofill” functions supplied by the user’s internet browser (e.g. Google, Firefox, Edge, etc.), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) asks all EQRS users not to use autofill when entering any patient data in the EQRS web portal. While these tools seem helpful, they are not part of the EQRS application and often the information the autofill provides or predicts is incorrect. In some cases, the autofill is also populating additional information without the user realizing it. Please take the time to carefully enter patient information into the portal without the help of predictive text tools.

For assistance with EQRS technical issues, please contact the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) Service Center. The CCSQ Service Center is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time and can be reached via phone at 866-288-8912, email at qnetsupport-esrd@cms.hhs.gov or online at the CCSQ Support Center.
