EQRS Clinical Data Submission Deadline Approaching for the December 2023 Reporting Month

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Quality Reporting System (EQRS) Clinical Data submission deadline for the December 2023 reporting month is February 29, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (PT). This deadline applies to all collection types (Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis) and to all submission methods. The remaining 2023 EQRS submission deadlines are listed below for the following:
- EQRS Clinical Data
- Depression Screening and Follow Up Assessments
- In-Center Hemodialysis Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (ICH CAHPS) Attestations
EQRS clinical data opens for submission on the first day of the month and closes approximately two months after the end of the reporting month. Additionally, EQRS monthly data closures typically occur on the last day of the month. However, if the last day of the month falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the deadline will occur on the next federal business day. Dialysis facilities must submit EQRS data by the established deadlines below. Not submitting the required data by these deadlines puts your facility at risk for an ESRD Quality Incentive Program (ESRD QIP) payment reduction.
If your facility batch submits or uses the Health Information Exchange/Electronic Data Interchange methods, please follow the guidance provided by your organization.
Please note: CMS strongly recommends that facilities complete large data submissions and audit batch submitted data prior to submission deadlines to ensure accurate and timely data submission.
